AV zero-day reaction time.
« on: May 01, 2007, 09:30:50 AM »
Hi malware fighters,

Reaction time has been thoroughly tested by the German magazine:
Computer Bild. For one year they looked how long it took for 8 AV
solutions to protect against new malware.

In this test Symantec performed very poorly, with a miserable 16 hrs.
McAfee too performed badly with a mere 6.5 hrs reaction time.

The overall winner was G DATA. Their AntiVirusKit 2006 offers protection
against a new virusbiedt after approx. 19 minutes.

It's Outbreak Shield is suppose to have extremelly low response time, though i never really studied it's technology (how it works).

I would think that G Data be the first as it's using many engines so many virus labs .

Can we see the other results ?

Thanks
