People Pc and Vista
« on: May 16, 2007, 02:08:49 PM »
I recently bought a new computer with Vista.  I love avast but it seems to be presenting a problem with my email.  I cannot send email with people pc.  When their "expert" called me and was helping me we turned avast off and the email sent fine.  But we cannot get it to work with avast on.  Has anybody run into this problem and maybe have a solution to help me?

What is People PC (is it webmail viewed using your browser or normal smtp/pop3 email client) ?

What is your firewall ?
Does it allow ashMaiSv.exe (pop3 email scanner) ashWebSv.exe (web shield that would scan webmail you view through your browser) internet access ?

- If it does delete the entries for them and do a manual update and reconnect to the internet, this will force the firewall to ask permission again.

From that it could bring with it its own problems, depending on version, it could have an anti-virus, anti-spam, accelerator, etc.

Pros
Nothing PRO to say. They are thieves and do not provide anything that they promise!
Cons
$$'s for NOTHING;Slow;Freezes;Boots offline;NO tech help;Window stays up;Bill you 6 months after you're gone!
The Bottom Line
I've already said this in other boxes. Don't use this rip off company! Why? Because you will sorely regret that you did!

 :)  Hi all :

I had the misfortune of using "PeoplePC" as my ISP for several months
a couple of years ago; had problem after problem. Would DEFINITELY
recommend another ISP, such as my current "DSLExtreme" .

Pople PC is strictly for dial-up. It's a cheap isp dial-up service provider and unfortunately in this case,
you get what you pay for.
I still have a free version with netzero as a back-up.  :)

I use the free Juno for a back up ISP.

If someone needs a really cheap ($3.95 a month, 150 hrs) dial up ISP, try vtisp
