It has not been widely discussed, because it has not been widely exploited, but there were two occasions where insecure broadband routers poses a threat (in Germany Deutsche Telekom) and not so long ago in the UK. It shows that most ISP's are still unaware of the implications of this problem. For a discussion go here:
