Does the new UpDated Version 4.7.1001 or whatever the latest version number is that was released on May 7 th accommodate Windows Mail instead of Outlook ?

Well the 'new windows mail' or the really new windows live mail due to supposedly replace outlook express in a few weeks, if they conform to normal email protocols such as pop3 and smtp then I would believe so.

avast works with the greatest majority of pop3 email clients and doesn't even know what that email client might be, so it should work I believe. Unless there are any non standard elements, like the Hotmail side of it where it supposedly can download your hotmail. That won't be scanned in the same way you could download hotmail in OE, it uses a different protocol and one that avast doesn't monitor.
