Export and import Settings
« on: March 10, 2007, 08:34:41 PM »
Is it possible to export all setting made in Avast and then import that settings on another computer? Or in example on the same computer after Windows reinstall?

On Professional version you can use Silent Installation.
In Home version the most you can - if you install avast in the same folder on the new computer - is copy the avast4.ini file and avast4.mb file to the same place.

I'm unclear... if I install the same (4.7.1001) version of Avast into the same folder after reinstalling Windows, will I have to download all updates (VPS) again? (significant inet-traffic for me)
also I guess about avast4.mb - I don't have it

Yes, the VPS updates will have to be downloaded again (the traffic shouldn't exceed a few megabytes).

I'm not sure but maybe it's present only in Professional version.
If you don't have it, copy just avast4.ini file.
