Happy or not, we don't have much of a choice.

Happy or not, we don't have much of a choice.

Of course we have a choice, many would probably go for win11, but what is effectively deception, saying their system isn't compatible when:

A:  Arbitrary decisions not based on the system such as unless you have an intel cpu of version 8, it isn't compatible, when many pre version CPUs with the TMP functionality built in.
B:  If it is possible for people to make registry changes and be able to get win11.
C:  If people stick with win10, as you mentioned "Windows 10 support Will still happen till 2025."

How to bypass the TPM requirement in Windows 11

If you are attempting to install Windows 11 and receive a message stating, "This PC can't run Windows 11," it is likely that you do not have a TPM 2.0 installed or enabled.

The good news is that Microsoft includes a new 'LabConfig' registry key that allows you to configure settings to bypass the TPM 2.0, the 4GB memory, and Secure Boot requirements.

Based on the name of this registry key, it is likely used by Microsoft or OEMs to set up a "lab" environment to test the Windows 11 on older equipment or when testing new features.

That said, there are several choices:
1.  install it if compatible.
2.  hack your system to get it, if technically proficient.
3.  stick with win10 until 2025.
4. wait for your next system update, if you can afford it.

But in all honesty this really isn't really a choice but a fact of life, depending on your personal circumstances.

I see folks treating not being able to install Windows 11 like it's the end of the world.
Windows 10 works very well and will be fully supported until 2025.
If you have a system that you can update to 2011, do so and get used to the next operating system
which will come with future computer purchases.
There are also still millions of users that are still using Windows 7. To me that's a bit foolish but, it's their security and choice.

That's the problem, I have a system that should be able to update to win11, but because of MS's arbitrary decision that all intel cpus earlier than version 8 aren't I get the CPU isn't compatible Image in Reply #21.  Yet all checks indicate that the i5 7200U has TPM (fTPM) is built into the CPU.

So I just don't know if MS is only checking the CPU type and anything lower than version 8 is a non-starter, regardless.

###
Opening a cmd window and running the command, tmp.msc returns the TMP status on my system, see attached image.

Now I don't know if the Status: 'The TMP is ready for use' means it is ready, but you have to say to use/enable it.  But that means diddly squat to MS as it has said the CPU isn't compatible.

Getting my DELL Inspiron 7786 ready for Windows 11

Perseverance does pay off. TPM isn't always called TPM.
Different manufacturers have different names for this Trusted chip.
On my Dell it was called PTT

IMO this is a major cluster f+++
I purchased the HP compaq 8510 Pro (shown in my profile)brand new in 2001 with xp pro factory installed. This laptop has now had (skipping vista) Win 7- Win8- Win 8.5 and now Win 10 20H2 and doing my work for me excellently
Now my point, The 5 year old HP Envy with only Win 10 installed apparently isn't compatible for upgrade to Win 11. The only way I'll upgrade to Win 11 is if MS puts it through as a Mainline upgrade without any special hacking work arounds.
Unbelievable  ::)

Hello.I am interested in Windows 11 since several months (I remind that Windows 10X is the basis of Windows 11) Many propose a compatibility checker (Whynotwin11) opensource. However, many security suites reject it because it does not respect their security scheme. Another software is appearing : https://www.wisecleaner.com/checkit.html , what do you think about it ?
Thanks
