Disabling popup notifications in Mac Premium Security
« on: June 24, 2021, 11:33:34 PM »
Is it really the case that one cannot disable the modal popups generated by the Email Shield etc? This is exceptionally annoying and a real interruption in my workflow. I saw some earlier threads suggesting that there is no way to disable this behavior - please say it isn't so. Why would that be a desirable product design choice? For me it is a usability disaster. As much as I like the product, I'll be canceling my subscription if there's no way around this.

Did you happen to find a fix for this?

I have a popup every few minutes for Avast Web Shield alert and even purchased in order to disable.

No luck

This will be enough to take Avast anything off my computer. I do screen recording and can't have it
interrupting my workflow like this

Nope. So exasperating.

The best I've been able to do is drag the notification window mostly off the screen so I don't see its constant updates. I guess you could move it into another desktop space on the Mac...haven't tried that as yet.

This seems like such a simple fix for Avast but apparently—incredibly—they don't see the usability importance. I too am likely dumping the product as a result. It's not the only game in town, and the lack of responsiveness to this basic need is pretty damning.

Is this a pop up for a detection, or just for something like the VPS update? There should be very few pop ups in premium unless there is some malware being detected by web shield, email shield, etc.

Free version is different as there are pop ups promoting other Avast products.

For a detection, usually from the mail scanner.
