Exception listed that I did not create
« on: June 27, 2021, 10:28:49 PM »
Hi,
I just found an exception listed that I did not create. I can not delete the exception. Where do I go from here?

I'm on Avast Premium Security V 21.5.2470

Thanks for any help,
Ernie Hodge

You don't show an image of the exceptions or the ones you are concerned.

Avast does make some exceptions mostly there are for data/text or inert files that don't present an immediate risk.

You should also notice the <RW> Read, Write to the left so there would be no scan for read or write.  Also notice for the most part these are data files.

See example of the Avast Free default exceptions in my installation.
Now I don't know what others might be included in the Avast Premium product.

I guess I forgot to add this was after an email (that I was expecting) was quarantined. That's when I found the one that looks like it's sending emails and possible using my address book.

I'm afraid what you said doesn't in the first post, that is why I asked "You don't show an image of the exceptions or the ones you are concerned."

That exception to achieve what you are suggesting "That's when I found the one that looks like it's sending emails and possible using my address book." would be very strange indeed and I don't think it would be in the location I mentioned.  It would sound more like a program exception.

Without detailed information, I'm effectively blind and guessing, which doesn't help you either.
