Win32:Generic-* [Wrm]
« on: May 30, 2007, 09:02:11 PM »
Hello,

I noticed that the today's update contained a number of addition like the following: Win32:Generic-AA [Wrm], and so I was wondering if this was Alwil's new strategy against malware that could be considered as a super advanced Heruistics ?

Thanks

Generic signatures is being a policy here a long time... instead of classic 'heuristic' detection.
I do not see a reason for this update is anything different.
Hope, anyway, we don't have that many false positives this time...

Of course, who am I to have the final word. Alwil team could post something...

Yes I know that is the general policy but those aren't named after virus so...
Yes hopefully Alwil Software can comment on this  ;)

Maybe something to do with RejZor's suggested naming convention

I don't think this case is related. Though it would be nice to see such naming scheme indeed :)
