OSX 12.0
« on: June 30, 2021, 08:30:24 PM »
Running OSX 12.0 beta for security testing.
All Avast extension are not loading, following the guide:
https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/227/?option=mac&cid=E5D61069-1579-5EE4-9A21-3D4D822FE721#troubleshoot
and trying to manually fix it section as well, nothing.

Would really like to get Avast AV working again.

Hello,
we are not yet supporting Monterey and won't be officially supporting it until it is released; FYI there was a bug connected with transition from 10.x version -> 11.0 version which have caused 12.0 version number to be incorrectly processed; this is causing the errors for the shields. Other than that, aside from a bug in Monterey itself which prevents clean uninstall of Avast AV, it looks like there are no major issues with it based on the initial tests, but who knows what will pop up over time...
Kind regards,

Any chance there is a Beta we can use/try with Mac OS 12 Beta?

Great suggestion @m.eisenman I would be happy to load up a test or Beta version of Avast.  I have been running unprotected for well over a month now.   :o

Hello,
we officially do not support beta versions of MacOS, but we try to fix all we can during our normal release cycle so that it works. Unfortunately the fix did not get into the last release of MacAV. When the next version gets out, it should be working. Saying this, the MacOS beta contains at least one bug that impacts MacAV, hopefully Apple will fix it before the release.
Kind regards,
Ondrej Kolacek

Looks like "Avast Security" for Mac was updated and now seems to work correctly with OS 12 beta.  However, "Avast Cleanup" no longer seems to work (it won't even launch")

Hello,
indeed, Avast Security was finally updated and should work fine on MacOS 12 (both issue in Avast and a bug present in initial MacOS beta versions has been fixes). We however do do not officially support beta versions of MacOS.
I will forward your observation about Cleanup to the appropriate team. Thank you for the notification!
Kind regards,

Hi, @m.eisenman. Could you please share the logs of what is happening on your side? And possibly what happened between the time it was working and when it stopped working.

Sure, what logs?  Can you be more specific which ones?

Hey, @m.eisenman could you please try running
Code: [Select]
launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchAgents/com.avast.cleanup.plist in Terminal and see if it helps?
