It was certainly a beautiful sunset last night.

I certainly get some nice sunsets here, unfortunately my location has a couple of properties and a large trees that spoils the camera shots.  I suppose I could have a house (and tree) warming and remove the obstructions to the sunset.  As in, Red sky at night, shepherds delight, Red sky in morning shepherds house on fire.

We do get some interesting visitors in some strange places, a Heron sitting on a roof, overlooking the pond to the rear of my house.

Well Herons are land based birds, but they need a water source and availability of food, the pond has hundreds of goldfish in it.  Someone must have thrown out their goldfish and they have thrived.  Watching the Herons fishing is an amazing sight, they are pretty accurate with that long neck and beak.  It normally patrols the edge and on occasion wades in the water with their long legs.  I have seen them on occasion actually swimming and they look strange.

Their is a resident pair of Moorhens and their first brood is on the go with 5 chicks seen so far.  In the last couple of years there have also been Mallards, at the moment there are around 5 males 'Drakes' and one female, 'Hen' with lots of fights.  Last year there were 11 ducklings in each of two broods, so I go through lots of bread (only wholemeal), mealworms and general bird food.

Unfortunately not, I keep them all off-line.  The major problem is their size, both file size and physical size, those that I post are resized so they aren't too big (file and physical), whilst trying to keep the quality reasonable.

I don't keep any of my data on-line, this go back many, many years ago when dialup was my only option and whilst I have fast broadband now I don't have unlimited data upload/download. even my small or lower resolution images are 1-2Mb and the High Quality ones are 8MB or higher.
