Wonder if they used Microsoft's ICE to do the stitching ?
It's a tool I used back in 2010 http://photosynth.net/userprofilepage.aspx?user=bob3160
Currently, I use my smart phone which has a built in function to create panoramas for Google Maps:

It's amazing how far technology has come in just a few years. :)

Oop's! didn't notice Bob's post about it.  :P

Once in production I think this will be the death of the phone as we know it now :)

I personally can see multiple benefits of this smart little device, no more carrying phones around in your pocket to get broken screens, it's small - lite and smart, it's water proof so no need to worry about someone stealing your phone when swimming, many +'s for this new piece of tech

It's very Green as well when it come to recycling, unlike the waste that is generated from old phones and screens that wont break down.

All right in the Southern Hemisphere, cr4p in the northern hemisphere - no way I'm running around in a tee shirt for 5 months of autumn and winter. No way I'm shaving my arms ;D
