It's hard to ask the person who wrote it. She's in the restaurant in California and I'm
now back in New Mexico. :)

How about asking one of the forum regulars in the Chinese Language sub-forum https://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=22.0 ?
I've followed your sound advice:

Thanks :)

Hopefully it will bear fruit (excuse the pun) ;D
I hope not, it was supposed to be pork fried rice..... :)

My lunch - Any one care to translate ???

If I'm not mistaken, it just means "cooked meat with rice". Bad handwriting probably because they are rushing to serve you your meal.

@ RZPogi,
Thanks that makes sense. I actually took the picture to test a new app from Google
that 's supposed to be able to translate a picture of a street sign written in one language to another.
Unfortunately, the Language used here wasn't covered.

Hi digmor crusher,

Everybody that has not slept under a stone has woken up to these disturbing new facts and  trends for software downloads in general and free av solution software is no exemption there. The endless drive for extra cheap money seems to have overcome the evental hold-back while fear for a serious backlash, when end-users come to  realize what is happening to them now, but it looks like marketing forces and shareholders outweigh the more moderate decision makers and are fully blind to these facts or very, very arrogant.
And the trend is booming as we see crapware everywhere now, even such that only leaves the browser when a complete uninstall and reinstall routine is performed.
Well the more apt user will do a custom install without additional crap- and bloatware, use unticky or find other ways to block the crap selling bundlers the earlier these trends will cease. The only way to choose now is by blocking, adblocking, scriptblocking, and uninstaling to learn the unethical pushers of crapware a well-deserved lesson.
As everybody seems involved now at the expense of the end-user, all need to learn that lesson of "grasp all loose all".

So that there is no misunderstanding, it isn't really fair to compare apples with oranges:
"Important!
Please keep in mind that Bitdefender Free Edition is only an on-demand scanner and does not offer real-time protection. If you are on an "always-on" Internet connection, it is important to know that exposure to threats has significantly increased. Therefore, we strongly advise you to consider using a more complex antivirus solution.
Also, Bitdefender Customer Care offers very limited support for this free product. Purchasing a full-featured Bitdefender solution will entitle you to the benefits of real-time protection, as well as comprehensive product support."
Seems this Apple (Bitdefender) that you present here isn't so rosy and easily infected with worms.
I'm happy to still be using the Orange (Avast) since it offers full, comprehensive protection and the little bit of "questionable" add-ons are easily bypassed
by simply using the custom install with your eyes open.

Hi bob3160,

What to think of Bitdefender's 60 seconds scanner, which actually is real nagware. McAfee's one is even worse because the results will be blurred out until you buy their software.
There is a world of difference between an additional browser download proposal or an additional  Google searchbar or unwanted crap that is presented as the same but comes with a persistent aspect. That is so-called unethical bundling. The line here is formed by the existence of eventual opt-outs, all other PUP bundling is a big no-no i.m.h.o..
And do not forget that Avast also comes bundled with tools like the software updater, a tool that can seriously enhance your security online.
The avast shields are unique. The cloud-based service is a big enhancement. No, I do not think avast overstepped that line, here
And in days of overall deflation also av vendors need additional income, despite of the fact that software is a boom business.

Completely untrue. The free version of Bitdefender DOES give real time protection and does it very well. It also has automatic quick and deep scans if you want to use them. There is no "60 second scanner" either.  There is an on demand only version available but there also is a free version that does it all. The on demand one is called Bitdefender Free Edition and the other is Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition. They are two different animals.

If you're correct, then they need to make some changes.

I added to my post. There are two different "Free Editions". The one you linked to called Bitdefender Free Edition, and the one I use which is called Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition which can be found at http://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/free.html

It is confusing and they don't promote the free AV at all but it is available from their main site under "free antivirus".

Hi Dch48,

Do not like to go off-topic here, but like to address your comments. Thanks, my good friend Dch48, for filling us in with facts from your own personal experience.
While I run avast on my laptop, I only found use for Bitdefenders TrafficLight extension, which is an excellent check-instrument and guide to surf by. Of all URL checkers like avast chrome extension, DrWeb's URL checker and Trustwave Secure Browsing the  Bitdefender TrafficLight extension is superior, but I keep the others on for an additional check. Adguard also has a URL check mechanism but that is half as good and you know the flaws of WOT (despite the fact I report there in another capacity as luntrus).

I stand corrected even though they are the ones who didn't make that obvious.
I'm still looking for email protection ??? Didn't see that mentioned at all ???
(I also use Traffic Light)
