I stand corrected even though they are the ones who didn't make that obvious.
I'm still looking for email protection ??? Didn't see that mentioned at all ???
(I also use Traffic Light)
I don't know if it actually scans emails or not but a general consensus is that doing that is not necessary as any malicious file will be scanned when it is opened or executed anyway. Email scanning is redundant. Actually scanning within compressed archives like .zip files is also really not needed and a waste of time when doing full scans of your machine.

Why we would advice against this program: http://www.sslenforcer.com/how-it-works/
because lot of users cannot use avast"s https scanning and it can cause issues on particular https connections.

Are there users that use this - and what are their experiences?

The wind is howling at about 45 MPH and our mountains are hiding.

Not a fit day out for man or beast.

Bob, You have had more snow in New Mexico than we have had in north central Oklahoma.
In the town in which I live we have had nada, zilch, zip in the way of snow. Last week we even had some wild fires.

Crazy weather. As you can see, there's more coming:

My saving grace is that I'll be leaving for Arizona on 2/4/15 where it's nice and warm.  8)
Unfortunately that doesn't help Alice. She'll still be here in Meadow Lake, NM  :'(

Why would you use that when you can use the browser plug-in "HTTPS Everywhere" from EFF? It has its problems, mainly in the form of incomplete support on certain websites that cause said websites to break. But you can work around that easily by disabling "HTTPS Everywhere" on a per-site basis directly from a menu in the browser toolbar.

If you want avast to keep you safe while you browse the net, then don't use a program like HTTPSEverywhere.
A secure infected site will get you infected and Avast can't protect you since it can't bypass the encryption.

As mentioned by polonus, it is about security, by forcing HTTPS for those avast users that can't use its https scanning feature, for whatever reason (not just what you mention), means that pages content can't be scanned by the web shield.

7 smartphone rules changed this week
1. Carriers can't throttle 'unlimited" data plans anymore.
2. Carriers can't sell you slow data connectivity as 'broadband' anymore.
3. Hotels can't block your personal Wi-Fi hotspots anymore.
4. You don't have to die needlessly because emergency personnel can't locate you indoors.
5. You don't have to tolerate slow airplane Wi-Fi anymore.
6. The entertainment industry can't use emergency alerts in movie promotions anymore.
7. You don't have to jump through hoops to complain anymore.
Here's the new site to file those complaints: https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us

Now you can give someone power of attorney over your digital life.
Facebook began letting users select a “legacy contact” who can partially
control their Facebook profile after they die.
