They're for their for there

I worked for a short time in a bank in the UK and the internal emails that went around were quite shockingly illiterate: 'they're', 'their' and 'there' were all used interchangeably.

Fortunately these people were only required to cut and paste from canned answers were corresponding with the public.

There are some people on this forum who need to take note of #6, I'm afraid.  ::)

FBI warns of rise in phone-based 'vishing' attacks

Some sound advice:
Just because it looks like your bank, talks like your bank, and walks like your bank, no longer means that it is your bank.
The best way to be sure is to never deal with unsolicited incoming calls or click through to unsolicited emails.
If you receive an email or telephone call from "your bank", call them back by looking up the number on your own.

He He.

I get calls from my bank. They always start, "Just to confirm your identity, please could you tell me your date of birth?" "Sorry, I don't give out personal information over the phone", I reply, "and, anyway, how do I know you're who you say you are?" "We can't talk to you if you won't confirm your identity", they say. "You're the one who wanted to talk to me", I reply, "What did you want to talk about?" "It's just a courtesy call to let you know about some of our...." "No, thanks." Click. Brrrrrr.

Always pisses them off!

Banks are going to have to stop doing this cold calling trying to sell crap otherwise who's going to be able to tell the difference between a real bank asking for personal info and a spammer asking for personal info?

Of course one day I'm going to be in trouble when the bank phones up to ask me if I've just bought a plasma TV in Florida and I refuse to tell them my d.o.b.  ::)

the following:

I bet this telemarketer will never call this phone number again.  ;D ;D
