A screenshot is a picture of yoour screen. Use paint(or similar) to save it as a jpg.

Click on the image you attached to your post.  ;D

but I am trying to learn how to copy my screenshot of the text in my profile just to figure out the system.
You can use Gadwin PrintScreen to get a screenshot (http://www.gadwin.com/printscreen/) or the free version of WinSnap 1.1.10 (http://www.filehippo.com/download_winsnap/?2173).

For Tech,   Thanks, have you ever checked out FastStone Capture?   It's free (or was when I downloaded it, anyway) and I get good quality screenshots.  My problem has dissolved now, but I was trying to copy from my documents and I couldn't find a way to copy; I didn't have a problem with getting a screenshot --- but it's all in the past now!   Thanks; you are apparently always available to offer help --- how do you (and the others) do it? ??? ??? ???

Yes, but I'd rather stay with the free version of WinSnap 1.1.10 (http://www.filehippo.com/download_winsnap/?2173).

Is there a reason you would like to share with us on this side of the screen?  I'm always wanting to know "why ---"; maybe I haven't grown up yet !!!

Do you mean why I keep WinSnap?
Well, it's free, saves the file automatically to the designed folder, take a lot of screenshot types (region, active window, etc.). It would be perfect if it takes timed (scheduled) screenshots (but some people will think it will become a spy tool...).

Thank you; WinSnap does sound excellent.  If you have the time, would you please explain what "region" means? It may be a term related to photography, or?  It's probably really dumb of me, but I simply don't know what it means in this context.   ???

Hi Lady Leddy,
Region simply means a selected portion of your screen rather than the full screen.
Hope that helps explain the term.

Thank you, Bob, that was my guess --- glad you confirmed it.  FastStone is much the same, giving options of all kinds. It doesn't automatically save to a specific folder, allowing the user to decide what to do with the screenshot, but I like the options.  FastStone was recommended to me because of it's excellent quality shots --- by a really smart guy just like you and Tech and the other faithful helpers here on Avast ! ;)

I'm happy to see that I have the last free version;  and now I also see that you guys know all about FastStone!  :) I haven't needed all the features it offers yet, but I'm glad they are there for any time in the future that I may need them!  I leave, shaking my head in wonder that you, Tech, are not impressed enough to use it!   ??? ::) ???
