Many Windows users will no doubt be perfectly happy using a free anti-virus offering. I have a ridiculous number of computers in my office and around the house, and have free anti-virus on three of the six Windows-based systems. One is running Avast Free Antivirus, another Comodo Internet Security, and the other one has Microsoft Security Essentials. Out of those three, I vastly prefer Avast, which seems the speediest and least resource-intensive.

I have never gotten excited over nice graphics over functionality, so I will be waiting some real information on functionality.

Most hopefully a more configurable and user friendly UAC module, as right now even on its lowest setting is still a pain in the rear.

So I guess I will have to wait for beta and public reviews to find out more on functionality.

Share screenshots & photos in seconds

Check this one out and give some feedback please.
(I'm still playing with it and will decide what to do with it after testing)
After Playing with this little toy for a while, I've decided that
Jet Screenshot is much better and it doesn't try to add anything else to your system

Donna Buenaventura talks about avast! Internet Security:
http://www.brighthub.com/computing/smb-security/reviews/112570.aspx

She does not like SafeZone's use of Google Chrome browser
Quote
• SafeZone – It’s a virtualized environment in which you can browse the Internet using the Google Chrome browser only. It’s not impressive because not every user in the world wants to use Chrome browser only and it is not allowing you to browse for files or run other applications on your computer while in SafeZone mode. Note that Avast Internet security will not install standalone Google Chrome browser that you can access anytime but it is only accessible when using SafeZone mode. It only means that Chrome browser is integrated now in Avast Internet security program that I personally don’t like especially if Microsoft has stopped integrating their browser to newer operating systems.

The Safe Zone was never meant to be your all around browser.
It's simply meant to keep you safe when you do your online Banking and Shopping. :)

The important point here is that it's not just the Chrome you download from web - it's been modified, e.g. the add-ons have been removed, to make it suitable for the SafeZone (safer).

Maybe it will be possible to run custom browsers inside the SafeZone in the future, but it's not possible now - and even if it were, not providing a safe default in avast! installation would be rather... unfortunate. What's the point of using the SafeZone if your browser is vulnerable, or even already compromised?
