Hi bob3160,

Well after all this time here you should know how some feel about "chain letters". Chain letters are frowned upon in anti malware land, and I think you at least should have mentioned that when presenting this particular link in your thread -1465,

Hi bob3160,

This has nothing to do with sending e-mails. It is the chain-letter character of the message in that posting you see as you click that link. Part of it reads
Quote
the proverb goes that if you send this to eight good friends,
. That is chain letter lingo, and I think we are not to propagate the use of it. Users could start to send the link to eight persons in the hope to get money within four days time. And what if they don't get it  :D  ;D

If memory serves me right, 11/5/2011 is the day when Facebook is supposed to be attacked and wiped out.
Wonder if any of you in Australia have lost your ability to reach Facebook ???

I'll see for myself in the morning.  ;D

It is already 4pm here the Phils. (8:00 UTC) and still I can log in to my account. Maybe fb is preparing for this.

My Facebook is still alive and kicking.
Chalk this one up to all the other gloom and doom predictions that didn't happen this year.  ;D

I would log that under not-interesting, personally I will have nothing to do with Cnet and that unfortunately would include this forum. I don't like all of the associated baggage that comes with Cnet, just looking at my firefox NoScript and RequestPolicy add-ons I see the number of 3rd party sites and cross site scripting in Cnet.

I have already made my feelings known about this as I believe it spreads support even further away from the official avast support forum. This dilution may well mean people don't get as fast a response and that doesn't look good.

Edit: as soon as you start adding exceptions the list grows or other 3rd party sites involved.

Is the avast forum really that hard to find?

Who are the "avast staff" then?
It will be disappointing if they spend more time there than here... :(

EDIT: Maybe this needs it's own thread...
