Scheduled scan?
« on: February 24, 2004, 09:05:40 PM »
I know one can schedule a boot scan, but will one ever be able to selectively schedule a local disk scan at a known idle time of the user's choosing?  Would such a scan detect anything not detected by the resident providers on-access scans? Thanks.

You have scheduling option in Avast! 4 Pro.
Otherwise Standard Shield detects almost all viruses at entry point. Scheduled scan would probably be more accurate with Packed files.

Of course, it depends on the VPS (virus database) file used by the on-access and the on demand scanning, i.e., when both the file and the virus database where check one against another...

Anyway, scheduling are for PRO version  ;)
