I'm starting to think maybe I have a hardware problem for the shut downs, just what puzzles me is how i can run the avast scan in safe mode and start up fine afterwards..here's the scans as requested..thanx:
The specific behaviour
is puzzling but I think hardware too. Since you've eliminated heat as the problem I would look at the power supply - things can get strange when one is on its way out.
I will be away for the weekend so if you could run an F-Secure online scan and post the results I will take a look when I'm back
