is there a advanced settings to exlude compressed files?

Hi

just giving a try to avast , great software like always , but what i did not  like i haven't found any possibility to skip or don't scan compressed files in core shields

there are not such option in the file shield and webshield

avast become the best antivirus for the advanced options in the past

is there a way to acess to advanced settings?
is there a plan to add them?
I don't like to disable avast shields when i download huge compressed files
could I use and install an older version to obtain such features?

but the web shield does write on the avast temp folder every archeves i download

is there a way to don't scan archives?

Placing an entry in the log file is different to scanning it surely ?
How do you know it is being scanned

If this is truly a signed archive then the geek:area default setting shouldn't scan it.
What type of archive is it  ?
A self-extracting archive such as a .exe or .msi etc. may well be treated differently (rather than a very big .zip file, that has to be unpacked before it can be run, at which point the content would be scanned), but that would need to be confirmed by an Avast Team member, those responding in this topic are Avast Users.

You didn't say how you know that they are being scanned ?
As it is possible the entry in the log pertains to the check for a digital signature, as an avast user don't know this.  If you check the web shield log file it doesn't place an entry for every site/file it scans or the log file would be massive.

This leads me to consider if the digital signature is considered valid, again as an avast user don't know this.

If as you say they are not executable then according to the geek:area default settings they shouldn't have been extracted and scanned.

i have found out using process hacker and explorer , while i'm downloading avast starts to create a temp file of the same size

I think the main question is - why do you want to disable archive unpacking?
Are you saying you see a significant performance hit (e.g. compared to disabled Web Shield)?
If the files are indeed huge (though of course everyone could have a different definition of huge), then the archive unpacking is probably skipped anyway. For regular archives, Web Shield is one place I think archives should be unpacked.

While the antivirus engine supports enabling/disabling specific archives (or groups of archives) internally, I don't think it's available in today's UI.
