Access refused!
« on: June 26, 2007, 10:38:13 PM »
Hello!

I am a french speaking and my Avast is in french. So it's difficult for me to use the correct words to describe my problem.

The problem ;D:

-I have selected "show all the actions of Avast. And now, the lower part of the screenis hidden by a window that appears each time something is happening.

-I have tried to disable this function, but i can't: "Access refused" when I click on "Personnaliser".

Schould I desinstall Avast and reinstall it after this or is there any possibility for me to solve this problem in a better way?

I thank you in advance.

Fred

Right click the avast icon, select On-Access protection Control or double click the avast icon and click the Standard Shield icon.

Is this where you are trying ?

Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Are you logged as the administrator of the system or in a common user account?

Thank you DavidR and Tech!

It's when I click the Standard Shield icon that a window "Access refused" appears  ;D ;D

I am logged in a common user account.

Did you try David's suggestion?
Can you post a screenshot of the "Access refused" window?
We will need more information to be able to help you:
To know how to post a screenshot, see http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=8982.0
You can use Gadwin PrintScreen to get a screenshot (http://www.gadwin.com/printscreen/) or the free version of WinSnap 1.1.10 (http://www.filehippo.com/download_winsnap/?2173).

Hello!

I succeded by stopping resident protection and reactiving it

It remains a small thing: when I open the window to manage the protection, all the icons appear twice!

When I click on the first, I can open a new window and personnalize. When I click one its "clone", then: "Access refused".

I can live with it.

can you indicate me A FORUM OR A REFERENCE WHERE AVAST! IS NEUTRALY JUDGED so I can transfer the opinions to friends (and to my children, because they don't believe me Avast! is the best. They say it blocks theyr PC).

Thanks for everything  ;)

There is most certainly something wrong with your installation if there are two icons for each provider and it would be better to do clean install.

Download the latest version of avast http://www.avast.com/eng/programs.html and save it to your HDD, somewhere you can find it again. Use that when you reinstall.

Download the avast! Uninstall Utility, find it here and save it to your HDD.

Now uninstall, reboot, run the Uninstall Utility, reboot, install latest version, reboot.
