100% Disc usage.
« on: July 22, 2021, 02:15:07 PM »
Ok so here the deal I will try to be calm But Im absolutely steaming.

IS THERE A WAY TO STOP OR PREVENT SCANS THAT COMPLETELY TAKE MY PC AWAY FOR HALF AN HOUR OR MORE?!

Im an Online English teacher and when scans happen, I can literally Just sit there and watch NOTHING responding.
It happened 6x now during class. My class is canceled because I disconnected and I have to PAY the class back because I DIDNT DO MY JOB. AND NOT BY CHOICE.
I used Several AV solutions in 15 or more years I use the PC and NEVER have I had a Scan that CAN NOT be stopped By Task Manager or even easier click on the cancel scan button.
Not to mention Opening the Task manager takes 5-6 minutes because Scan takes away my PC from me.
Is this Avast ransomware or is there a solution?
Im sick and tired of it. And it costs me money. Other AV at least offer Allowed Time setup so the AV doesn't start a random scan in the middle of my F****** Work day.
I do not Have a Work PC that is Gamer spec as it is not necessary for my job ,but that should not be a problem for any reasonably capable program.

First, be sure to get rid of all remnants of any prior installed AV(s)..!!
-> https://support.avast.com/article/11/

Then:
1. Download Avast Free Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup_offline.exe
2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions..!!)
3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.
