hello my first post. does anyone know anything about killwind.exe. avast picked it up about month ago. right after an update to vps i think. i heard some where it was part of hp remote acess to a computer in trying to help fix them. could be scanning with superantispyware and once it hit that file, avast would alert. major online scanners with the exception of one does not detect it as malware. i put it in exclusions and now i have my doubts if i did the correct thing.      compaq presario  xp home svc pk 2.  thanks  darth

Hi darth,

It is an official HP program that is flagged by some AV-vendors as potential riskware. So as long as it is not a  third party install, it need not be riskware, but a normal part of your computer's configuration. So as long as it came pre-installed it is all-right.
