WinME and "Disable Startup" tab
« on: February 25, 2004, 09:37:26 PM »
AAAARGH! I have been at this bloody computer all day!

I have tried to follow the instructions for disabling startup (to remove infected files), but when I go to the "troubleshooting" tab, I find that this box is already checked, and will not allow me to change it. HELP! I have the trojan Win32 virus in 7 files, and I want to get them out!!!

Thanks in advance from a distraught individual!

Finally!  I did it!  Thanks for everyones help.

Still can't figure out why my computer won't allow me to enable "system restore" again, though. Still, Avast gave me a clean bill of health!

Hi,

here is a bug in the original RESTORE-function in WinME.
Apply the specific patch, or best ALL Windowsupdates, that might help.. ;)
