Sorry but that's the way it is.
Most new features are only developed for NT-based systems. It's because in Win9x, certain things are too different and most people are migrating from it anyway... :-\

Heh what P2P Shield can't scan, that Standard Shield can!
Don't worry,P2P shield intercepts viruses in partial files,Standard Shield intercepts them as soon as they are constructed from all partial files (when you get final usable file). You can't run the file before it would be scanned, trust me ;)

That's a matter of personal choice but under the hood, these two systems just can't compare. It's like comparing tricycle with a Toyota (I'm not saying Rolls-Royce because XP certainly has its problems - but you got the point).

What exactly do you hate about XP, besides its funky look (which can be, BTW, quite easily turned off)

I to find that regretable that Avast home doesn't scan WinMX (but yet it scans many others like kazaa)  I'm happy with Avast, but I won't take a chance in getting a virus.  I'm hoping that Avast will see that not everybody is dumping Windows 98 to go to XP.  You know the saying, if it aint broke...

Anyways, thanks for your time.

Keep this in mind, some P2P programs share the same part file extensions and filetypes (encoding) so avast! will scan them even if they aren't directly supported by P2P Shield. If these aren't scanned by P2P Shield, than Standard Shield Scans them. You simply don't have to worry about anything, especially about infection, just keep VPS up-to-date...
