Avast 4 server denies client access to file shares
« on: July 10, 2007, 05:48:05 PM »
Windows 2003 Server r2a brand new install.....Networking and file sharing performance is awesome.
Upon installing Avast Server, all network client access is denied, usually with some sort of permissions error but sometimes the "not enough server storage to process request" thing.  Any help?

Please try the work around outlined in my post here: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=20265.msg207208#msg207208

Thanks

TY very much for the quick response.....  Sorry this didn't help the problem.  Whenever I uninstall the Avast Server, the workstations access the shared files with awesome performance.  However, even with your suggested workaround, when the AV Server is installed I get the above errors.  Thanks again and any help is appreciated.

See if this MS article comes close to your problem.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/177078/

I found I needed to increase IRPStackSize to a value higher than 14 (mine is 18) to overcome the error.

Restart the system after the change (if you choose to make it).
