192.168.2.1 won't load
« on: July 11, 2007, 10:25:03 PM »
When I enter http://192.168.2.1 into my browser to see my wireless router settings, it won't display the page until I click on "Stop On-Access Protection"; otherwise, it just hangs forever. Is there some sort of "permit-this exception" list to which I should add this URL?

There isn't a blocker into WebShield, but you can set an exception.
Left click the 'a' blue icon (details button if needed), choose the WebShield at left and Customize button at right.
Go to Exceptions and add that link 8)

Tried, but it still won't load until I disable Avast. Any other suggestions?

Otherwise, it just hangs forever.
Does this happen with any browser? Did you try Opera? Did you try Firefox?
If you open a DOS window and type
ping 192.168.2.1
Do you get any response?

I'm not a techie but try this it worked for me.

1. remove all wires from wireless router.
2. power on router.
3. connect to computer with lan cable.
4. connect to modem with lan cable to wan port
5. type in 192.168.2.1 to internet browser.

i.e. just like when you first set up wireless router.
