Browser soap continued!
« on: July 22, 2007, 04:34:39 PM »
Hi malware fighters,

The soap goes on between IE and FF. When you sit in a glass house do not throw stones. FF seemed to have suffered from the same hole, that is not properly handling URL handlers, so it had the same problem before the recent patch came out IE had. Another chapter in this ongoing drama, read this:

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!

I can't see how it had the same problem as IE, I tested the exploit using FF with noscript enabled for the site and firefox displayed the alert about external processes. IE didn't do that and went on to call firefox. So this looks different to me and now in the light of day I would expect it to be fixed quickly (if there really is something to fix), unlike Microsoft's prior response that there is nothing wrong with IE.

In this case David there's nothing wrong with IE that Firefox can't fix.  ;D
