Exchange email scanning attachments
« on: July 18, 2007, 04:03:26 PM »
My memmory seems to be failing me on this, I used to use the Avast managed network setup at several customers at my old job, and now at my new place of employment I'm trying to get them to switch to it since our current av licensing is going to be expiring soon. Anyways, is there a way within the Avast Exchange client to basicly set up a whitelist of alowed attachments? For example, I want to block all attachments in emails except the for jpg, xls and a few others. I would like it if possible, to deliver the email, just without the attachment if it's one of the not allowed types.

Thanks,
Rob

Are you talking about the avast Exchange Server plugin?
If so, yes, this is possible.
Its on the "Blocking" config page of the "Exchange 2000/2003" provider.

Thanks

Just one note: the Exchange plugin (still) doesn't support Exchange 2007.
This should change in the upcoming months but I felt you might want to know...

Thanks
