How to downgrade to Avast Free Antivirus

I am using Avast Premium Security at the moment and it will be soon expire at the end of this month. Could somebody tell me how to downgrade to Avast Free Antivirus without re-install, please? In the past, I could easily do that by entering the Avast Free Antivirus registration code, but it no longer works.

Hi,
You will need to start the premium uninstallation process.
You will be offered 2 options:
1) Change to the free version
2) Uninstall the software.

Where did you look ?

It should be in the Control Panel > Programs and Features, Uninstall.
When uninstalling it should offer installation of Avast Free.

A point to note if you have an ongoing automatic subscription renewal you would need to cancel that or payment would be taken close to renewal.

The options only appear once you have started the uninstall procedure (but not before)

....and it will be soon expire at the end of this month. .....

You can try it when avast informs you that the subscription has expired as on the topic I quoted above
