Microsoft Edge
« on: August 15, 2021, 11:11:58 AM »
Hi Everybody

Not sure where to put this question but here goes.

Avast Premium Security claims that it can 'put so sleep' background and start up programs to speed up one's machine.  That is, of course, an excellent idea.  However, the list never includes Microsoft Edge, but whenever I open my browser (Cliqz) Avast tells me that Edge has woken up.  I never asked for Edge to be installed; Microsoft simply did it in one of it's monthly Upsets (I believe they call them Updates).

What I would like to do is uninstall Edge, but Microsoft will not let me.  So would it not be excellent to add a button in Avast that allows the user to block edge permanently, a sort of permanent sleep?

What do people feel about that idea?

Regards

Pete

Simply prevent Edge from starting in the
startup settings in Task Manager if you don't use Edge.
