Avast blocking Whatsapp Desktop Download

Not sure if this is a feature but I discovered Avast would block Whatsapp Images from being downloaded onto Desktop (apparently a folder classified in Ransomware Shield on Windows 10 (doesn't happen for Avast for Mac though).So its a ransomware shield issue I presume. Can someone confirm this? Thanks!

Whatsapp Desktop Version: 2.2112.10.0
Windows 10 version 1909

Yes I'm aware of using that. Just like to confirm its Avast Ransomware Shield in play and not some other malicious application. Thanks!

I have been facing tis problem on every application update. Even after adding WhatsApp desktop in the list of allowed apps, Avast blocks downloads. that's because, ur downloads folder is protected. Ideally, a pop up confirmation wizard needs to permit the user to allow downloads from WhatsApp. This doesn't happen always after every update of the application
