registration help
« on: February 28, 2004, 08:30:54 AM »
I have 38 days left on my demo Avast4. I registered and was emailed a registration number. But, when i try to insert it in the license box it always says invalid. Do i have to wait for my demo to run out before i can use the number i was sent?. Thats hard to believe, then i would not be protected for a short period of time and would probably have to download the program again.Im sure im NOT doing something very simple and basic.  Please in layman terms just tell me where im going wrong, and what to do. Thanks.

Are you sure you're entering the key OK? Have you tried copy'n'paste? Are you logged on as an admin? What is your operating system anyway?

Haven't you played with access rights to the registry keys?

Thanks

If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving's not for you.

Vik, just got through with the cut and paste. It worked perfect. I guess its hard to put the number in perfectly by hand. How long is this number good for?. Will i have to register again? Pretty sure i will, just not sure. Thanks again.

OK, fine, that probably means I can disregard the IM you sent me, right?

BTW the key should be good for 14 months (i.e. till April 2005). After that, you can re-register.
