Avast Sounds won't do anything

Since my reinstall of vista when I push the Avast Sounds button in Program Settings > Sounds nothing the button becomes light blue but nothing comes up , baffled ?

Settings isn't a place to hear the sounds, it's a place to select alternate sounds or to disable the sounds.

Are you able to hear any sounds since changing over to Vista?
