I also am experiencing the problem with bot time scan.
I have the most recent version and VPS installed.

I am looking forward to help from alwil on this . . . patch needed, perhaps?

One of the Alwil team has acknowledged this problem and they are working on the fix, which shouldn't be long, this week I believe was mentioned.

Alwil acknowledges the boot time scanning bug (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=29999.msg247134#msg247134). You'll need to wait for the next program update.

With VPS 767-0 I've done boot time scan successfully!

Updated VPS again and now boot time scan works!
