Avast Ultimate causing Internet Connection to Drop

Installed ultimate suite today but repeatedly having to reboot computer as internet connection cut off. When restarting Privacy Filter seen to be impeding restart. How do I configure / de bug or do I just turn of virus shield?

- Which version/build of Avast..?
- OS..? (32/64 Bit..? - which SP/Build..?)
- Other security related software installed..?
- Which AV(s) did you use before Avast..?
