??????

There is a menu named avast! External Control Settings. Its almost at the end of the list just above Smart AutoUpdate.
There you can enter proxy IP,port, username and password (only if required),otherwise you enter just IP and port if necessary.

I found and it works  ;)  :D
The function of 'coming back' to the AEC main window works too.
Settings are not 'lose' after the program is closed. I'll test with a boot...
I suggest you change the name of that line for 'proxy settings' (not only 'settings').
Thanks RejZoR  8)

+Fixed Back controls in avast! Tweaker
+Fixed Norton Antivirus 2004 Cleaner (Registry cleaning part)
+avast! External Control Settings renamed to Smart AutoUpdate Proxy Settings

This version brings only few bugfixes. Big thing comes in next version (i guess) and it will be a new tweak to enable On-Access packers scan for Home Edition of avast! Antivirus. Stay tuned :)

YO!

Rejzor, downloaded the new and improved AEC, it helped me out last night!

Thanks

Kezz

Ps. how did you get it to not drop out of the proggie after use?  Are you simply relaunching the whole prog when it checks to close? Just curious about the work around.

Yes,the workaround was to re-launch the app. It re-aunches for so long until you click Quit button (except in features that automatically restart your pc in order for changes to take effect.

Now i'm curious too :)
How exactly did it help you? I wanna hear more of this so i can improve it even more.

Thanks

Fair enough,  I dropped my computer the other day after a LAN party and everything is okay except for a dent in the top and my harddrive somehow lost (orphaned, disassociated) a crapload of files, sygate and Avast would not work as well as other programs.  After some time I managed to get Avast, sygate the two main culprits removed and the hd patched enough for a semi stable system.  I then reinstalled avast and it wouldn't work. Blue ball, red x stated inactive and wouldnt start.  I removed it again, restarted, reinstalled, restarted, wouldn't work  :P.   Removed it again restarted installed AntiVir, worked, scanned for virus's to make sure.  Uninstalled AntiVir, came to the forum rembered your tool used it to brutally remove avast reinstalled avast, restarted, didn't work  :P uninstalled avast, restarted, brutal remove again, restarted, reinstalled, WORKED ;D  also used the norton remover

Thanks
Kezz

RejZoR, what about an automatic search for update of AEC? I mean, on Windows startup... as it's being improved and becoming better and better  8)

I think nobody will read my old fashion text-like help of avast4.ini file with your tweaks  :'(
