Pls check whether any avast! process run, if yes,
Try to access the avast! folder, and run ashdisp.exe;
if no, maybe your pc is infected, try to scan it first.

Hi Elisa! You can also use avast! uninstall Utility here:http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-uninstall-utility.html , & then just install it again, or you can choose "repair" option from avast setup file.
take care 8)
P.s. Wellcome to the forum.

Elisa, pls try Dr.web CureIt
It is a "pure" scanner, free of charge
If it does not work, reinstall system is the best way.

Hope it is helpful

First I suggest you remove your email address from your post unless you like spam, there are bots that trawl the internet pages looking for email addresses to add to their lists.

This sounds like an attack on avast (and other AVs), check out these links. Bagle Rootkit variant:
See http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=26554.0
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=25941.0

These two seemed to have most success if this is a rootkit hidden attack and are more user friendly.

David, you were right.. It was Bagle!!
Thank you so much for the information you gave to me... they made me able to destroy it!!
It's not been easy...but finally I made it!
:-)
I'm very happy now, even if the safe boot doesn't work... but I'll fix it!
Thank you again

Ciao!

No problem, welcome to the forums.

That is one of the tricks some malware uses to stop you getting into safe mode to deal with malware.

The malware may have deleted the SafeBoot registry keys.
Here are some options to restore them:
