Regarding "Antivirus Executable file"
« on: September 07, 2021, 07:17:00 AM »
Hi,

I am having software in which there is an option of Checking for virus for any downloaded file using any available software but it requires me to add the path of Antivirus Executable file . Can anyone help me where i could find that in my PC? Currently I am under avast premium subscription security plan.

Avast is a resident on access antivirus scanner, it scans downloaded web content using the Web Shield. Also newly created (which would include downloads), modified or run executable files are scanned by the File System Shield.

So you shouldn't need this redirect.

The file ashQuick.exe from Avast installation folder used to serve this purpose... but as David said, Avast File Shield should scan newly created files - so the shield would usually scan/detect/clean the file before the tool can pass it to the ashQuick scanner.
