Can Avast Free Home edition 4.7 detect every type of malicious software, including spy ware.Most Protection programs identify themselves as Anti virus software But in a subheading they say that they are able to detect Trojans, worms, and viruses also .What is the difference between these malicious software and How to get informed about what kind of protection they offer.Just buy the heading as Anti virus according to my experience it is not possible to identify what kind of protection they offer

avast is mainly an antivirus, period.
But it also detects a lot of other malwares, including trojans, worms and spywares.
If will be good if you, side by side with avast, use other tools like AVG Antispyware. Some users recommend SUPERantispyware, Spyware Terminator and/or a-squared (take care about false positives).

Advanced users will say it's necessary anti-rootkit applications. I suggest AVG, Panda and/or F-Secure BlackLight.

When you're clean, you can use the immunization of SpywareBlaster or, which is better, the Windows Advanced Care features of spyware/adware cleaning and removal.
