Avast doesn't show up...

I'd really appreciate if someone could help me out. The problem is that every time I try to launch avast it does the memory test all right, then when the program window should show up, it doesn't, altough its tray its on the taskbar. I was able to open up the program by opening ashSimp2.exe, but I wish I could solve this up. Tanks in advance.

Can you open it by using ashSimpl.exe directly, this avoids the memory test, does that work if not is there any error message ?

Is there anything in the avast! Log Viewer (right click the avast 'a' icon), Error, Warning or Notice sections ?

No there aren't any error messages or anything in the log. And I tried runnig ashSimp.exe but the same thing happened (no error messages) .

Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.

Do you happen to have any skinning applications like Windows Blinds ?

If that doesn't work it may be best to reinstall, uninstall, reboot, install, reboot.
