look to your event log (through event viewer in administrative tools) for some detailed messages from avast services.. is there anything strange?

Have (or did) you another AV installed in this system, if so what was it and how did you get rid of it ?

Was that also killed (unable to start) ?

You're in the right direction... you need to run boot time scanning but before you must have avast correctly installed in your computer.

Sorry for my poor English.

Thank you for all! In fact I'm a system supporter, The computer is my customer's, Originally this computer use Kaspersky 6, and it infected with some Rootkit , Kaspersky ask for reboot to kill the virus , But when I reboot, Kaspersky 6 cannot kill, It always ask to reboot, So I think I must change a antivirus software, In China , It has already many people know AVAST! So I try the free version, The virus was so bad, I can get AVAST normally installed, But the computer was so slowly, It cost 2 hours for me to uninstall kaspersky 6 and install avast, It always pop up many ads windows, so I can not work normally. Finaly I get avast runs a dos boot kill, the system works OK! I think for the next time, I want to quickly get a dos boot kill (normally install the software), so I can work quickly, that's all ,Thanks all.

In China people don't have enough security consciousness for there computer, They use antivirus software , but they don't recogenize the messages from software, so they always click "allow" , and then they infected, hehe, Every day I must repair 2 or 3 system. So I have many "next" :-[

Sorry if this is off topic, but I've been reading a little about a Chinese security called 360safe, which is supposed to be good for rootkits.
Can post/pm links if you want. They're in Chinese, so I can't read them, though.
Windows 10,Windows Firewall,Firefox w/Adblock.

hi Tarq57,
the download link http://down.360safe.com/setup.exe
the offical link  http://www.360safe.com/
rememmber it`s just a tool not a antivirus like avast!
It`s just so so I think  ;D
