Unable to set up exclusion for Nicehash
« on: September 23, 2021, 03:58:53 AM »
Hello,

I am running Nicehash on a spare PC, and I am having a hell of a time getting the exclusions to work. I've tried several things:

I've run the exe, had Avast declare it was malware, and then picked "add exception". That adds it to the list, but it doesn't work - when I try launching it again, it gets blocked from executing.

I've added an exception to the nicehash executables to the exceptions list. This also did not work.

I added the path to Nicehash to the exceptions list. This also does not work; it continues to block that exe and any of them in the subfolders that I have excepted.

I added the path to Nicehash to the exceptions list via "add advanced exception, folder". This also does not work; it continues to block that exe and any of them in the subfolders that I have excepted.

The only thing that works is turning off the shields for 10 minutes, starting nicehash, and then turning the shields back on. Even then, it constantly detects/blocks/attempts to quarantine each miner's exe, even though I keep hitting the add an exception, over and over and over again.

What else can I try?

Hi,

Can you please take a screenshot of the Avast detection message and report it here: https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php
