Question related to 'Decompression Bomb' notice
« on: September 28, 2007, 12:44:33 AM »
Ok, I know what a decompression bomb is supposed to be, I just have a question related to it.

I have some archived Fraps avi files, which uncompressed are several gigs but when RAR'd are only around 1 gig all together.

Avast keeps warning me about them and I just want to make sure it won't mess with them.

Sorry if its a dumb question but I just installed Avast today, and its the first time I seen anything mention a decompression bomb, I looked it up and know its just falsely IDing, I just want to make sure it wont do anything to them on its own.

Thank you

Click 'Settings' in my signature and browse for the decompression bombs settings on avast4.ini file. You can change them according to your wishes/needs.

Or if you don't want these compressed .avi files scanned you could exclude them.
