Temp file!
« on: March 03, 2004, 03:41:22 AM »
I have a file in my C/Windows/Temp folder. I was wondering if it is safe to delete? My junk file finder wants it gone. I was also wondering when it is created?  Thanks!

On every avast! startup (usually at Windows start up), avast! Virus Cleaner is extracted from the VPS file to the TEMP folder as clnr0.dll file. It's ok!  8)

It would be nice if you'd move this file inside avast! main folder. I dont get the point why in TEMP ? Every disk cleaner erases it.

Culpeper, thanks!  ;)
RejZor, maybe it is in the temp folder because each boot it could be 'different' as it is 'extracted' from the VPS files (updated frequently). Of course, I'm not sure only the guy (Igor) could say something about  ;D

Yeah, but it can read registry entry on where avast is installed and than extract itself there. Its no problem to do this, even i made autodetection for avast! External Control tweak,so it always knows where files (ashDisp.exe and so on) are stored even if its installed elsewhere on other machine (other than default install directory). My cleaner file got deleted too often so its kinda annoying...
