What Happened to Omni?
« on: October 11, 2021, 04:49:11 PM »
The website is there but, there's no place where you can order the product.
https://www.avast.com/en-us/omni

You can read all about Omni but apparently you can't order it?

Hi Bob,
thanks for raising this up. I can see that you've already discussed this with our developers. Therefore just to add, you're right, currently, it is possible to buy Avast Omni only through different channels than the webpage.
Have a great day,
MJay

Since it's no-longer available, it's probably also not getting the priority it needs
and deserves. I'd like to know the best way to remove the hardware and software
and change over to something else.
The problem with Avast One is that it doesn't monitor all the devices connected or it would
be a perfect candidate.

Whilst I'm not using Avast Omni, but I do see it filling a gap in the Avast product list/range/components, "All-in-one protection for your smart home and family".  I believe it has configurability and components, that doesn't appear to be covered in Avast One.

It almost seems to be abandonware, get a following and then abandoned (as happened with Avast Passwords).  Not being able to purchase it via the Avast web site is a large mistake.  Peek a potential customers interest those considering Omni and a purchase only to find they have to find an alternative source to purchase is likely to kill that interest.  Avast needs make it easy for those considering Omni to be able purchase via Avast, rather than an unknown source.

This will only hack off those users considering Omni, get their interest on the Avast website, but unable to follow through with the purchase possibility leaving Avast completely not just Omni.

It is ironic having a page called  "A few things to know before you order", yet there is nowhere to order.

Surely there should be at the very least links on the Avast Omni product webpage to purchase from these different channels.

I tried to re-install it today with no luck.
I had removed Avast One, used the installer I had saved from the last install.
After the installation all I had was a black UI.
After rebooting, I no longer had Omni but was back to Avast One.
