on purpose but without the communication there is every time (unless you have one?).
Users never had to go fishing for information on the beta channel notes.
That's what's strange besides the change in regularity.
While a little explanation (it's been 4 days since the release) would help to move on.

1. Yep, I asked about it on Slack and got a confirmation. Btw, feel free to join us there. ;)

However, the screen that appears after restarting the PC following the version update is nice.  It is a screen with the details of the update that has taken place, but the flag is active on Avast Secure Browser and if I know click ok (as most users would do) Avast Secure Browser is installed.  A little trap to get Avast Secure Browser installed even if the user doesn't want it.  Remember to always click on the X and not on OK or first remove the flag.  What a laugh these techniques to install other products that not all users would like.    ;D ;D
Thank you and good day!

Is this the one you are talking about (always good the take a screenshot when stuff like this happens.

I didn't X my way out of that, I just clicked the Got It button, which just displayed the normal UI and I haven't got ASB.  I can't even recall if I even tried it being a chromium based browser.

This is not it, when it happens again I'll take the screenshot.

My sister, after turning on the PC, displayed an Avast screen (she does not remember exactly what it was, but certainly after the automatic Avast update) and clicked on OK as everyone would do not realizing that in small there was the flag already set that allowed Avast Secure Browser to be installed.  She obviously found herself with ASB installed which I had to uninstall.  So why is this done?  If you want it, look for it and install it, otherwise it is not good to put a checkbox by default that prompts you to install the Avast browser to inexperienced or inattentive users ...

My Avast Free version is 21.9.2494 (build 21.9.6698.703) so technically you have an old version, probably a minor update, bug fix etc.
My UI version is - 1.0.672

Have you tried a manual update check ?

Your computer jour choice. I like to keep my protection as up to date as possible.
I do a clean install only if there's a problem. To each their own.

What's stopping you from doing a clean installation this time? it's not because there are 2 versions 21.9 that it's different.
Whether it is the "online" or "offline" version, the last version to be installed is 21.9.94, the signatures are different and the date is 2/11 for one and 26/10 for the other

No reason, nothing new, no changelog. Clean installation is time consuming.

So why did you ask the question here?
Avast told me i have old version, Why? I have 21.9.2493
isn't it also a time consuming  for those who answered you  ;)
especially when the subject has already been mentioned on this post by "NON" #32

edit:In my opinion, if there have been 2 updates in succession, with the only change (see the notes of the beta version 21.9.2494 build 21.9.6698)
Quote
What was fixed
Fixed an issue with missing translation during installation
it may be that this translation problem is more annoying than it seems .... not for those who update but for those who make their first installation of the antivirus .... with essential (missing) things to read (license for example) ???
