Unable to connect to device

When I try to locate my device via the website My Account, or mark as lost etc, I receive a message 'Unable to connect to device'. I have Avast mobile security on my mobile phone, with location turned on. Any idea how I can connect to the phone?

Please make sure that you have a working internet connection on your mobile phone. Please also see this guide https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/116/
