home edition how to scan all of local hard disks

when i run the thorough scan of the C:\ drive it only scans 2.1GBs of files i have much more why is it stopping did i turn something off or changed some setting what im i doing wrong? :-\

Do you have scan archives turned on? It's on the popup you get when you press the scan local disks button. Make sure it has a check beside it.

Yes that's the one. The check mark can be hard to see. The only other thing I can think of is..is there any thing in the exclution list? This would be the list in program settings.

shouldnt it take longer than 9 mins to scan all of my computer

Well that's hard to say. It depends on your system. Ram, cpu, disk access time and how much data you are scanning. On this system 4.4gb in about 37 min. system spes are in my signature.

I think its the exclution list now that im looking at it, im only using 3.3 GBs but there is 1.5 GBs of stuff in the exclution list, it doesnt scan the exclution list right

I would say that is about right for thorough with archives considering as you said it only scanned 2.1GB.

I only do a Standard scan, without archives scanning just over 7GB in about 11 minutes.
